Default Spirit Light Weapon?

well I'm trying to find a good elite skill for my rit and I stumbled on Spirit Light Weapon on wiki. Looking at just the description this could really be very useful

#1: only 5 energy, 5 recharge, can be rather spammable
#2: can not be ripped as an enchantment can since it's a weapon
#3: a lot more energy efficient than healing breeze

does it work as well as it says on paper? should i cap it? (since my cap sig is worth 1k atm) any builds with this?

Masturbation is more energy efficient than Breeze. Not a strong selling point, comparing an elite to that PoS skill.

Tbh, I've never really used SLW... All it really does is hog your elite to push red bars up, which Spirit Light and MB&S do very well on their own.
And if someone's being wailed on, I'd much rather have them under Weapon of Shadow/Warding, which will actually stop them dying.

yea.....a lot of people hate Healing Breeze, they even have a topic of that in monk forums.

I really think though Spirit Light might have pontential since it can go over the pip cap since it dosen't use pips.

Am pretty sure that 320 health for 5 energy is one of the most energy efficient heals in the game.

It depends on your idea of efficiency.
Can it add 320 health? Sure, but it comes with another price.
What if there is not a spirit around because it got nuked or died? Oops, you get only half.
What if the person needed 80hp when the spell was cast? Sorry dude, gotta wait for the regen, I should have cast Spirit Light.
What if the person only needed 40hp when the spell was cast? Oh well, you got 280 more just in case you started bleeding, burning or the backline went AFK to watch FoD.
What if the person took 1 hit and was suffering from condition based degen? Oh well, should have cast Mind Body and Soul, enjoy the regen while you wait out the condition.
What if the person is a meleer or a barrage ranger with a balled up bunch of targets? Go with O (Splinter Weapon) or wait for regen (Spirit Light weapon).... not a difficult choice.
What if the target is a squishy getting ready to be be beaten on by an assassin or warrior? Go with D (Weapon of Shadow) or wait for regen (Spirit Light Weapon) another not so difficult choice.

In short, when efficiency is measured in raw potential rather than actual results, SLW is very efficient. When efficiency is measured in actual results rather than potential, SLW is left as another skill cap gathering dust.

Cheers,
TB

grats on proving yourself as a total ass any skill can come up with a list of improper situations that its self does not make it bad so *clap clap* you when an award
a for the skill well i think it is fairly good but there are better skills that could be used and rit resto skills already give huge amounts of health gain for nothing so maybe something more protective

Spirit Light Weapon is quite a good elite to play with. You can't rely on it as an emergency spike heal, but it can help keep frontline or more vulnerable characters standing for longer, letting them deal with moderate amounts of punishment and reducing the number of big heals that you need to throw out (use it in the same way that a monk or wammo would use Vigorous Spirit).

Depending on levels of spawning, you can get another 1-2 seconds out of SLW. I personally used it a lot on my rit, it works well with wielder's boon. Also, even at half efficiency, it's still not a horrible spell (possible 160hp for 5e is never unwelcome).

It's good for when 2 or more characters are feeling moderate pressure, since it keeps the red bars up, which is what PvE is basically about. You just need to know when it is suitable to use THIS and not a different, more effective weapon spell.

I'd like to see this skill with a shorter recharge and casting time to compete better with WoR and such. Make it more like a vital weapon, only instead of being meant for countering spikes, it would be more of a pressure negation type.

Regardless, heroes still don't know how to use it right :/

Offering of Spirit, at 12 Channeling, will give you back 15 energy. I would rather have three free healing spells, no questions asked, than have Spirit Light Weapon.

But it costs 5 energy so it gives only 2 healing spells :P
